Education
Craniodontics is an evidence-based concept using cutting-edge electronic technology and sophisticated software such as 8 channel BioEMG II electromyography that is synchronized with T-scan, BioJVA ( Joint Vibration Analysis) System, and Jaw Tracking Device. These devices are used to aid in occlusal analysis and record mandibular movements.
Craniodontics integrates dental biometrics that utilize highly innovative and advanced products that measures and evaluates dysfunction in the craniofacial musculature, skeletal, temporomandibular joint and the overall stomatognathic system.
Here at Craniondontic-TMJA Study Group, we are committed to the relief of craniofacial pain, craniomandibular dysfuntion, temporomandibular disorders, airways and dental related sleep disorders(OSA) adjoining it with the principle of orthodontic-orthopaedic treatment, chirodontics, craniodontics, gnathology, dental engineering and architectural principles.

Introducing EBM Dental Engineering and Gnathology
THE MISSING LINK
Dentists are aware of some of the basic principles of occlusion and its long term effects of occlusal management, which can affect areas of the body other than the teeth. The awareness of the concept is growing, more dentists are now cognizant of this interdisciplinary approach in treating pain patients.
However the inattention to gnathology and fundamental engineering analysis of the relationships between several basic occlusal concepts contributes to erroneous concepts in clinical dentistry. All dentists need more courses in physics and engineering to fully understand occlusal function, masticatory forces, envelop of motion and function, cranio-mandibular relationship(TMJ), to properly appreciate and practice dentistry. Full adaptation of the dental engineering and gnathological principles would develop consistent result with the expectancies calculated RESULT in different aspect of dentistry e.g. cosmetic, orthodontics, implant dentistry ,TMJD treatment etc. facts in the physical sciences that can give dentistry a true position of physiological occlusion.
Dentistry is just a part of the total scheme of human anatomy and physiology. We must integrate both our treatment and our perspective of the patients we treat, with other discipline for a better clinical result.
The Architecture of the Cranial Bone
Modern dentistry is dedicated to long-lasting preservation of the teeth, with due regard being given on aesthetics. But there is now a paradigm shift. The significance of function has now gained importance. Function, on other hand, has been more complemented by various other functions like speech, facial aesthetics or posture especially airway.
When function is altered it can result to craniomandibular dysfunctions which often show a wide range of different symptoms and problems that are commonly triggered by mandibular movement. Other may view this as the patient normal function but based from Dr. Manalang’s research, it may be a habitual function.
Dr. Eillen B. Manalang modified an analysis based on the idea of Dr. Bob Walker’s Tri-Planar Analysis. This radiographic analysis can give dentists information and the necessary steps for diagnostic work-up and case planning for complete rehab cases, orthodontic cases, cosmetic, complete denture that can work with harmony with physiologic function of your patient.
EBM Yaw Cast Analysis
Be updated! Discover the Yaw cast Analysis conceptualized by Dr. Eillen B. Manalang in evaluating cranial distortion.
This dental yaw analysis can be used during orthodontic treatment and craniomandibular pain management, using incisive papilla and mid-palatine suture as a reference point. With all the cranial distortion YAW is the worst distortion. Dr. Manalang has documented several trigeminal neuralgias like symptoms, compression of the hypoglossal nerve,a nd facial nerve using the Biopack by bioresearch. And guess what, dental yaw is the common denominator! With this information at hand, she developed this analysis to help dentists evaluate their cases.
EBM Bracket System
Watch out for this NEW Bracket System designed by Dr. Eillen B. Manalang for phase II treatment of Craniofacial pain management.
